What is coaching?

Coaching is a chance to pause, think things through properly and explore what's going on with someone who will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and help you see things more clearly.

It can be helpful when your professional life feels complicated, pressured, uncertain or in transition — especially when you're carrying responsibility, doubting yourself or trying to work out what needs to change.

It can also be helpful when things are going well and you'd like to take the time to notice what has created this and how to maintain it in a sustainable way.

My approach

Coaching with me is thoughtful, practical, collaborative and conversational.

Some sessions are reflective. Some are energising. Some help you untangle difficult situations, while others focus on making decisions, trying things out or building momentum around something important to you.

You don't need to arrive with perfectly defined goals or a five-year plan. Often, we start simply by exploring what feels difficult, unclear or important right now.

What coaching isn't

Coaching isn't therapy

Coaching focuses mainly on your present situation and what you want to change, explore or strengthen. If therapeutic support would be more appropriate, I'll always say so honestly and compassionately, helping to refer you to recommended sources of support.

Coaching isn't advice-giving

I won't tell you what decisions to make or pretend to have the “right” answer for your life. My role is to help you think clearly, notice patterns, explore possibilities and make decisions that feel right for you.

Coaching isn't about fixing you

You do not need to become a completely different person to handle change, leadership or uncertainty well. Coaching is about helping you work with your strengths more intentionally and sustainably — not forcing yourself to become someone you're not.

What people often bring to coaching

People often come to coaching when they are:

  • navigating change or uncertainty
  • carrying more responsibility than they expected
  • struggling with confidence or self-doubt
  • growing a business or stepping into leadership
  • feeling overwhelmed by difficult environments or dynamics
  • questioning what they want from work now
  • trying to make meaningful change without burning themselves out
  • exploring sustaining success without burning out

Do I need a long-term commitment?

No.

Some people come for one or two sessions to think through a specific situation, while others value ongoing support over a longer period of time.

There's no pressure to commit to a package or set number of sessions; we work out what feels useful together.

How we'll work together

A simple three-step plan

No contracts, no pressure. A clear path from curiosity to coaching.

  1. Book a call

A free 45-minute conversation so we can get to know each other.

  2. Explore together

We'll talk through what you're facing and what kind of support would be most useful.

  3. Agree a plan that fits

Pay as you go, online via Zoom wherever you are in the UK or beyond — or in person by arrangement.
