Team coaching is different from running a team offsite or delivering a workshop. It's a sustained coaching relationship with the team as a whole — your team becomes the client. We look at how you think, decide and communicate together, and at what's getting in the way of doing all three better.

When team coaching helps

Team coaching is most useful when:

  • You have a new team (or a newly-reshaped team) and want to start well
  • The team has grown quickly and the way you worked at five doesn't scale to fifteen
  • Decisions are taking too long, or getting remade after the meeting
  • Communication patterns feel stuck — the same people dominate, the same things don't get said
  • The team is about to go through something hard (restructure, launch, transition) and wants to do it well
  • You've done the strategy and the away-day and the strengths profile, and you need something that actually sticks

What we'll do together

Every engagement is bespoke, but the shape is usually:

  1. A discovery conversation with the team leader: what's the team for, and what's getting in the way?
  2. Individual conversations with each team member: what's working, what isn't, what does good look like?
  3. A reflective session back with the whole team: what we're hearing, and what we notice together
  4. A series of team coaching sessions over the following weeks or months, focused on the patterns and commitments the team has chosen to work on
  5. A closing reflection: what's changed, what's stuck, and what the team wants to sustain on its own

Practical details

Team coaching can happen in person (I travel across the UK) or online via Zoom, or a blend. Most engagements run for three to six months, with sessions every two to four weeks. I'll work out the right rhythm with you before we start.
